The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence is increasing demand for data centres and the electricity and skilled workforce needed to support them, with technology leaders warning that infrastructure constraints could become a major challenge for the industry.Speaking virtually at a G20 technology ministers’ meeting in Chapel Hill, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the scale of data centre construction was creating significant demand for skilled workers.“The buildout would require hundreds of thousands and maybe millions of jobs in the skilled trades, just because the demand for data centers is immense,” Zuckerberg said.
